Shao Earns Dean’s Award for Excellence in Research

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Chenhui Shao, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Science & Engineering at University of Illinois, Urbana- Champaign, was named one of this year’s recipients of The Grainger College of Engineering Dean’s Award for Excellence in Research in the Assistant Professor category. The award honors faculty who have demonstrated an outstanding record of research achievements and publications during academic year 2020-2021.

Shao and his research group has been working to develop fundamental, generalizable data science methodologies that are applicable to various manufacturing applications including industrial drying, as well as high-precision machining, ultrasonic metal welding, two-photon lithography, rotating machinery, photovoltaic solar panels, additive manufacturing, and bio-manufacturing.  Read more.
