Itamar Harris Selected as Winner of WPI’s 17th Annual Sustainability Competition

We are delighted to announce that PhD candidate Itamar Harris, under the guidance of Dr. Jamal Yagoobi, was selected as the winner of Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s 17th Annual Sustainability Project Competition. Harris presented her project, “Laser Technology for Sustainable Industrial Drying, Baking, and Dehydration,” emphasizing the potential of laser technology to drive decarbonization and accelerate the transition toward sustainable industrial drying. Her work aligns directly with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) and 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and was evaluated by a panel of 22 regional sustainability experts, WPI faculty, and staff.
